Learning Express is a program that is made up of several components, all designed to help your child succeed in school and increase their academic achievement. In addition to the academic nature of the program we will also offer daily enrichment classes such as Physical Education, Interest-Based CLUBS, cooking, art, etc. The program will also cover homework assistance.
Ongoing work with Project Cornerstone supports our staff and students as we strive to instill Asset Development in our youth. The 41 Developmental Assets are the essential building blocks of healthy child and youth development and include adult role models, positive peer influence, caring school climate and a sense that community values youth. For more information visit http://www.projectcornerstone.org
Learning Express also collaborates with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bay Area. Our upper grade students are matched with a mentor from the community to develop relationships with another caring adult in their lives. For more information visit http://www.bbbsba.org
Learning Express is largely subsidized by the ASES grant, but we will charge a minimal materials fee for participation in this program to be paid upon enrollment. Scholarships are available if needed.
